I decided to use units from an accredited course. I've noticed the units don't have performance criteria on training.gov. Does this mean I need to choose different units of competency?

NO. You can use accredited units of competency in most cases. It is always best to check with the TAE Team first. 

Your RTO should be able to provide this information, they need to have it if they are delivering.
